Aya Acuña, Licensed Massage Therapist
Aya Acuna, LMT (MAT-14828) brings a deeply trauma-informed, gentle, and grounding presence to Trauma Healing Hawai‘i. With a compassionate touch and intuitive attunement to both physical and emotional pain, Aya creates a safe, nurturing space where clients can reconnect with themselves at their own pace.
Aya understands that trauma is often held in the body and that healing doesn’t always begin with words. Her approach honors each client’s boundaries and comfort level, offering massage as a non-verbal, somatic pathway toward regulation and healing. Trauma-informed massage has been shown to reduce stress hormones, support emotional regulation, ease anxiety, and help restore a sense of connection to one’s body. Clients may experience her work as grounding, calming, and deeply supportive—especially those who may feel overwhelmed by talk-based approaches.
Her sessions are fully consent-based, collaborative, and paced with sensitivity, making massage therapy a gentle entry point for those beginning their healing journey. Aya’s work also complements psychotherapy by helping clients stabilize between sessions, regulate their nervous system, and build greater capacity for presence and embodiment.
With warmth, respect, and steady care, Aya supports clients in cultivating safety within their own bodies—facilitating healing through touch, not pressure, and through presence, not expectation.
