Trauma Healing Hawaii is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective trauma-informed care to support individuals on their journey to healing. Our approach is rooted in understanding the profound impact of trauma and integrating evidence-based practices to create a safe and nurturing environment for each client.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach, used by Trauma Healing Hawaii, that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma, as well as a range of other mental health difficulties.

Do you experience distressing emotions that appear to you and others as potentially excessive for the current situation? Do you tend to be highly reactive to certain triggers? Is there one or more dysfunctional beliefs you hold about yourself, that intellectually, you know are not true?

If you identify with any of the above, you may be a good candidate for EMDR therapy.

Couples Counseling

Your relationship can change and improve with just a little support - no matter how big, small or daunting it feels to begin healing. 

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill? Are you and your partner stuck in the same daily argument loop? Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting apart? Do you desire more intimacy between you and your partner?

With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs, to feel more fulfilled in your relationship.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

In addition to talk therapy, trauma sensitive yoga therapeutically works with the body. Trauma Healing Hawaii offers two forms of yoga, Trauma Center-Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) and Yoga Therapy. These yoga approaches are trauma-informed modalities that integrate somatic work into the treatment of trauma. 

Do you ever feel disconnected from your emotions, thoughts, or body? Do you have difficulty discerning when you're hungry, or neglect certain physiological needs? Have you ever been in a relationship where you felt controlled or constantly put down by the other person? Did you ever go through periods of your life where your primary focus was on survival?

All of these are signs of complex trauma. If any of these experiences feel familiar to you, you may find value in engaging in our yoga therapy services.
